When Yossi Vaknin, who was serving in Lebanon arrived to his home yesterday and started unpacking, he was stunned as he noticed a metal chunk sticking out of his Chitat(A thick book containing Chumash, Psalms(Tehillim) and the Chassidic text Tanya). "I opened the book and found a bullet just inside the Chitat", he exclaimed. Yossi was given this Chitat by his counsellor when he studied in a Chabad Institute in his youth. Just before his unit went on a difficult shooting mission in MarjAyoun, Lebanon, a Chabad soldier told him that he ought to place his Chitat within the flak jacket he was wearing rather than merely keep it among his belongings. Sure enough, this suggestion - placing the Chitat just across his heart - had saved him from being hit by the Hezbollah bullet".

In the mainstream media we seldom hear of the pain and suffering the Jews experience.

The Torah tells us that we are ' A nation set apart ', our strength is not only in our military might but primarily in our spiritual connection to our Creator. Take a look a these photos in which modern military might works hand in hand with the prayers pouring out of the hearts our precious soldiers.

'A picture is worth a thousand words..'

an emotional pictorial essay...
