NY Times Journalist speaks on "The Rebbe's Army"

fishkoff_55-web.jpgNY Times reporter Sue Fishkoff made a special trip from San Francisco to Palm Beach Gardens to tell us about her bestseller 'The Rebbe's Army". She spent over a year living with the Chabad Rabbis and Rebbetzins in Chabad Houses around the world. Sleeping and eating with their families, she had a true insiders view of the world's largest Jewish organization- Chabad Lubavitch. The publishing house asked her to do this project specifically because she is not a "Chabadnik", and thus was able to present a truly objective view on the movement.

Highlights of her fascinating talk were the great challenges faced by the Chabad in Sumi Ukraine to opbtain Kosher milk and how the Chabad rabbi of Minnesota searched for her through the airport to make sure she wasn't sent off without a Kosher meal.

fishkoff_07-web(1).jpgThe event was held in appreciation of the Members of Chabad of Palm Beach Gardens. It was scheduled for Tu B'Shvat since our supporters are like trees that bear fruit to a greater future in the community. An elegant spread featuring the seven fruits of Israel was paired with a professional sommelier Riccardo Kasinsky, presenting high-end Kosher wines from around the world.

JLI: The Art of Communication

Tuesday, 4:30pm at the Mandel JCC

Click Here to listen to lesson 1 The Essence of Communication - this class explored the great danger that text messaging can have upon our most treasured relationships.

JLI 1.jpg

Join us for Lesson 2: Opening Up to New Perspectives
Communication advice is so often about learning how to listen. Why is it so hard to listen to others? And what do we gain from listening? Is it merely a mutually beneficial arrangement—I’ll listen to you, if you listen to me? Or is there more to be gained from opening ourselves up to new perspectives— viewpoints we may never have considered had we not opened ourselves up to truly listen to others?

Fee $89
Chabad Members $79
Couples $158 (includes 1 textbook)
Traveling? Join us for individual classes at $18 each.
