Our dynamic Hebrew school curriculum includes fundamental and core Jewish concepts:

 

MITZVOT & JEWISH ETHICS:

What is the reason for affixing a mezuzah on the door? What makes an animal Kosher? Why is Shabbat a special day in the week? This course teaches the basic mitzvot to the younger grades and provides insightful meaning of more complex mitzvot to the older grades.
 

JEWISH HOLIDAYS:

 

Children will learn to appreciate the special quality and holiness of our Holidays. They will become familiar with the historical background, customs, and observances of each festival through memorable interactive workshops, activities and projects.  
 

JEWISH HISTORY:

Children will be taught our beautiful and insightful history, and will glean morals and ethics from the heroes highlighted in the Torah. They will be given an overview of Jewish history, starting with creation, continuing with the giving of the Torah, and finishing with a glimpse at modern day Israel.  
 

Bar & Bat Mitzvah Club

Specialized program for boys & girls 11-14.

A Bar or Bat Mitzvah is not just a ceremony, it is a way of life.

Our Bnei Mitzvah program offers several platforms;

1 - Individual and personalized one on one Bar & Bat Mitzvah training. These sessions prepare our Bar and Bat Mitzvahs with expert training to perform with excellence on the occasion of their special day.

2 - Bar & Bat Mitzvah club. This is a weekly group session where the Bnei Mitzvah get to interact on a community level.  Interactive  discussions are generated on various deep concepts such as the purpose of life, the value of the Jewish soul and how to connect better with our creator. The boys are also given practical tools such as demonstrations of how to put on Tefilin and affix a Mezuzah. 

3. - Bnei Mitzvah class - at our Sunday Hebrew School. At these classes your child will sharpen their Torah analytical skills, learn about our rich history and how to translate a Torah verse independently.

 

HEBREW LANGUAGE / ALEF BET:

Our Hebrew reading curriculum is based on the internationally acclaimed Aleph ChampionTM Reading Program. This highly motivational system provides excitement and inspiration, leading the students into a winning cycle of learning. Hebrew vocabulary is a basic part of our program - children will learn Hebrew words related to current themes. 

Aleph Champ, modeled after the Karate Martial Arts system of motivational colored levels, breaks up the Hebrew reading process into bite sized motivational levels which makes it more kid friendly and exciting. 

Students start as a white Aleph Champ learning half of the aleph bet.  They work their way through the different "belts" until they become a black Aleph Champ with the ability to read fluently from the Siddur (prayerbook).

Each Aleph Champ level has a color coded book, flashcards, workbooks and a medallion which is awarded once a level is passed.  All of these work together to create the motivation needed to progress in their own way. 

Reading groups are divided by color instead of age group, thereby allowing conscientious students to surpass the pace of their class and advance in reading on their own. This program ensures that students do not go on to a new level until they have truly mastered all that their current level expects them to know. This avoids the common problem of children learning to read without fully mastering a letter, vowel or concept in reading.
